San Diego Medical Jobs

There are plenty of hospitals where those looking for San Diego medical jobs may be able to find work.

The healthcare industry as a whole has remained stable – continually adding jobs and growing in popularity and necessity – despite the economic recession. Although San Diego’s healthcare industry has lost some workers on a yearly basis, it has been growing month-to-month.

The San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos area’s education and health services industry employed 137,200 workers during December 2009, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is up from 137,000 workers during November, but a .4 percent decrease from December 2008.

Atlanta IT Jobs Ranked 10th Best

A new report has ranked Atlanta IT jobs among the best in the country.

Many officials and economic experts are touting that the economic recession is over and America is entering a period of economic recovery. One sign conducive to this is that some of the largest cities in the country are seeing an increase in demand for IT professionals.

NetworkWorld.com recently released a list of the top 10 cities for IT job seekers. The list compiled the need for IT professionals as reported by Dice, salary information as reported by PayScale, and reasons why IT professionals may want to search for work in the city.

Outplacement and Your Employment Brand

Outplacement is often looked at as the simple act of helping your laid-off employees find a new job. However, outplacement has the capability to be so much more than a simple service, and should instead be considered part of your overall employment brand.

Lately, many employers have begun using outplacement services. The downturn in the economy has forced employers who truly care about their workers to decide whether or not they should reduce the size of their workforce, who they should keep on board and who they should let go. Those aren’t easy decisions for any employer who views their workers as an asset.

Hiring an outplacement company to help soften the blow to those employees has been a crucial act for many companies, especially those who had to layoff workers through no fault of their own, and therefore want to see those workers succeed in their future endeavors.

RPO Company Hired by SEC

One federal agency has enlisted the help of a recruiting and RPO company for its hiring needs.

The Securities and Exchange Commission recently announced that it has hired Futurestep to provide strategic talent acquisition solutions to help the agency address its continuing talent needs. The partnership, which comes from a General Services Administration contract awarded in 2009, includes a one-year contract with three additional renewable years and the option for a fifth year.

Futurestep will provide the SEC with recruitment and strategic services, with a focus on the implementation of best-practice talent acquisition processes and expert support related to workforce planning, employment branding and talent technology strategy.

Pittsburgh Nursing Jobs

When it comes to Pittsburgh nursing jobs, registered nursing is one of the most promising occupations.

According to Pennsylvania Workforce Development, registered nurses are considered a high priority occupation in the healthcare industry. Employment throughout the State of Pennsylvania is expected to grow from 121,150 workers during 2002 to 136,910 workers during 2012, accounting for a 13 percent increase and 4,111 available jobs each year.

Pittsburgh’s education and health services industry employed 237,100 workers during December 2009, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. Although this is a decrease from 238,000 workers during November, it is a .7 percent increase from December 2008.
