Increasing holiday sales should create more sales jobs in Phoenix (Click here) this year.

A recent report from the National Retail Federation is predicting that holiday sales will increase once again this year, allowing retailers to hire hundreds of thousands of seasonal workers, which is great news for the millions of unemployment people throughout the U.S.

The NRF is predicting that holiday sales will increase by 2.8 percent to $465.6 billion this year. The projected increase is considered average compared to last year’s sales growth of 5.2 percent.

Phoenix Sales Jobs at Top-Ranked Companies

STORES Magazine recently released its list of the Hot 100 Retailers in the nation. Ascena Retail Group took the top spot this year, with many other notable companies included on the list, from Amazon to Netflix.

The list recognizes companies that have been able to expand throughout the last several years while many others were suffering. Companies with more than $300 million in sales were ranked based on their domestic sales growth between 2009 and 2010.

Furniture Sales Jobs Florida Lost

Hundreds of furniture sales jobs Florida will be lost as a popular retailer closes its doors.

Robb & Stucky recently filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and will now be sold to Hudson Capital Partners, a professional liquidation firm. The company cited the economic recession, continuing high unemployment, and a low demand for housing for its financial troubles.

The high-end furniture retailer currently operates 20 stores throughout Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada – all of which will now close because of this deal. Robb & Stucky also operates a number of distribution, warehousing, and logistics centers throughout the country.

Phoenix Sales Jobs in Retail Rank Best in Nation

There should be plenty of Phoenix sales jobs available in the retail industry, as the city added more retail jobs last year than any other city in America.

A new report from Buffalo Business First found that Phoenix added more retail sales jobs during 2010 than any other city in the nation. Although the city lost 7,000 retail jobs between 2005 and 2010, it added a total of 10,400 jobs last year, placing it well ahead of most others.

The only other city that came close to Phoenix in terms of retail job creation was Washington, D.C., which added 10,200 jobs last year. In all, about 51 of the 100 largest markets in America added retail jobs during 2010.

Sales Careers Dallas Support Auto Industry Growth

The Freeman Auto Report found that sales of new cars and trucks in North Texas increased by 8.4 percent during 2010. That growth in sales, along with more increases expected this year, is supporting the creation of more employment opportunities in the industry.

The report found that sales in Dallas County were up by 14.7 percent, while sales in Collin County grew by 17.1 percent, but both of those increases were offset by single-digit growth in Denton and Tarrant counties.

IT Sales Jobs Tempe Increase Insight Profits

At the end of last year, Insight Enterprises announced that the company’s net sales increased by 21 percent to $1.2 billion during Q3 2010. During that same time, the company’s gross profit grew by 16 percent to $154.6 million.

“Today, we reported another quarter of healthy year over year growth driven by continued strong demand for IT products and improved execution,” Ken Lamneck, president and CEO of Insight, said in a statement. “We are executing better and maintaining our general cost disciplines while we invest strategically in our sales force, which should serve us well as we close out 2010 and head into 2011.”

Connecticut Sales Jobs
