Jobs in Chicago

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, finding jobs in Chicago has become increasingly more difficult over the course of the last of the last six months. During March approximately 9.3 percent of the population was without work. This is particularly significant when one considers that just last year only 5.6 percent of residents were unemployed.

Despite this ChicagoJobs.com shows that many employers in the area are still looking for workers. The website has a list of the areas top companies and their profiles , which is a great place for job seekers to begin looking. Under the list of top employers ChicagoJobs.com has 19 different companies involving everything from insurance agencies to healthcare providers.

Starting of the list is Allstate Insurance. According to the company profile, the insurance provider is currently trying to hire for 69 different jobs in Chicago and elsewhere in Illinois.

Phone services provider AT&T is also listed as one of the companies currently looking for workers throughout the state. At this time AT&T has 20 open positions. Being bilingual is obviously a plus for the company because many of the job listings require being able to speak at least two languages.

Those looking for finance jobs in Illinois should check out First American Bank’s profile. Currently the bank is looking to hire 16 different new employers. The positions range from part-time tellers to branch managers.

Not surprising is the fact the Northwestern Memorial Hospital had the some of the most job listings on ChicagoJobs.com, following only after Allstate. Since the healthcare industry is one of the few sectors that continues to provide a large number of positions. At this time there are 49 positions listed on the job search.
